Pierre-Louis Vézina
Pierre-Louis is Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Economics affiliated with the Department of Political Economy at King’s College London. Previously he was lecturer at the University of Birmingham and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. His research interests include using natural experiments and novel datasets to get a better grasp of policy issues in trade, development, and migration. He holds a PhD in International Economics from the Graduate Institute in Geneva and has been a consultant for the World Bank. He is also Assistant Editor for the European Economic Review. Julián P. Díaz
Julián P. Díaz is an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department, Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota. His research interests are in the fields of international trade and international macroeconomics, focusing on the effects of trade and financial liberalization in the transition economies of Central and Eastern Europe that joined the European Union in 2004 and 2007. He has been a Visiting Researcher at the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
Konstantins Benkovskis
Konstantins Benkovskis is the Adviser in the Monetary Policy Department of the Bank of Latvia. His main research activities include international trade, competitiveness, and macroeconomic forecasting. He is also the active member of the ESCB Competitiveness Research Network (CompNet). Konstantins Benkovskis combines his office duties at the Bank of Latvia with the position of Assistant Professor at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, where he teaches International Economics and Econometrics for undergraduates.
Aleksandr Vashchilko
Aleksandr Vashchilko is a Visiting Researcher at BEROC. He holds a PhD in Economics from Vanderbilt University. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at the American University of Iraq and KIMEP University.
His primary research area is International Trade.

Olena Besedina
Olena Besedina is a Senior Researcher at KEI and Objective Coordinator of the USAID Leadership in Economic Governance (LEV) Program. Olena is also an Assistant Professor at Kyiv School of Economics.
Received her Ph.D. in Economics at Bocconi University in 2008 and Master’s degree in Public Administration and International Development at Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (now Harvard Kennedy School), in 2003. She was a recipient of Joint Japan and World Bank scholarship that was used to finance her studies at Kennedy School of Government.
Olena’s focus is on policy-relevant research and analysis as well as teaching: she teaches courses on policy analysis and policy making at the two-year program and short-term programs. She also serves as a short-term consultant for the World Bank.
Catarina Marvao
Catarina Marvão is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Accounting and Finance at the Dublin Institute of Technology. She holds a Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin (2013) and a Double M.Sc. in Economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain and Católica Lisbon (2009).
Her research focuses on industrial organization and international trade and she is particularly interested in antitrust issues, such as detection and prosecution of cartels.

Natalya Volchkova
Natalya Volchkova is a Director of the Centre for Economic and Financial Research (CEFIR at NES) and a Senior Lecturer at the New Economic School (NES) in Moscow, Russian Federation. She holds a Ph.D. from the Central Economic and Mathematics Institute of Russian Academy of Science.
She serves as a member of the Committee for Development Policy, United Nations, a member of the Expert Council of Open Government of Russia, member of the Expert Council of Accounting Chamber of RF and some others. In 2008, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship. In 2016 she was nominated for Yegor Gaidar Award in Economics.
Her research interests are in the areas of international trade theory and policy, natural resource economics and corporate governance.

Natalia Turdyeva
Natalia Turdyeva is senior economist at CEFIR. She has done research in such areas as computable general equilibrium (CGE) models including regional CGE for Russia, and the restructuring of the Russian electricity sector.
Michael Fuenfzig
Michael Fuenfzig is a Senior Economist at the Ecorys, international research and consultancy firm.
Michael Fuenfzig has been consulting for governments and international organizations on international trade and industrial policy. Prior to joining Ecorys, he was the lead economist and co-founder at the ISET Policy Institute (ISET-PI) in Tbilisi, Georgia.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests involve international trade and competition policy.
