Patrick J. Kelly
Patrick J. Kelly is an Associate Professor of Finance at the New Economic School in Moscow. Professor Kelly earned his Ph.D. in Finance and Master Degree in Economics from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Texas at Austin, a visiting lecturer in the Ph.D. program at the University of Melbourne and an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida where he won awards for both his teaching and research.
He has published articles on these topics in top academic journals including the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Banking and Finance.
Estelle Dauchy
Estelle holds a Ph.D. in economics from University of Michigan. She joined the New Economic School as an assistant professor in 2012. Her research examines the impact of federal and international tax reforms – or features of tax systems – on various margins of firm’s behavior, such as investment choices, organizational forms, or R&D spending. She teaches graduate public finance and public economics, macroeconomics, and applied micro-econometrics.
Gunes Gokmen
Gunes Gokmen is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the New Economic School, Moscow, and a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Bocconi University in Milan.
Evgeny Yakovlev
Evgeny Yakovlev is an Associate Professor at the New Economic School, Moscow and a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Government Affairs at LSE. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University of California, Berkeley.

Maria Petrova
Maria Petrova is a Visiting Associate Research Scholar at the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics at Princeton University, UBS Associate Professor of Economics at the New Economic School in Moscow, and a Research Director at the Center for New Media and Society.
Petrova received PhD from Harvard University in 2008. In October 2011, she organized the 9th Workshop on Media Economics in Moscow. In May 2013, she will co-organizing (with Markus Prior and Martin Gilens) a conference on “Political Impact of Mass Media” in Princeton, NJ.
David G. Tarr
David G. Tarr is a consultant and former Lead Economist with the World Bank and Adjunct Professor of International Economics at the New Economic School, Moscow. He has authored more than 60 refereed journal articles, written or edited 11 books or monographs and over 100 other professional papers.
Tarr has worked in more than 25 countries providing trade policy advice. His solely authored journal articles include articles in Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Economic Inquiry, the Southern Economics Journal, the Journal of International Economics and the Journal of Comparative Economics.
Presently, his research interests include the link between the liberalization of barriers in services and growth and poverty reduction (with applications in Tanzania and Kenya), World Trade Organization accession (with applications in Russia and Kazakhstan), assessing the impact of diverse interrelated regional integration agreements (with applications in Chile, Brazil, Russia, Armenia, Tanzania, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan), and assessing the impact of trade liberalization with heterogeneous firms.
Oleg Shibanov
Oleg Shibanov is currently the Senior Lecturer and academic director of the M.A./M.Sc. applied finance programs at the New Economic School, Russia. He is also the director of the Centre for Research in Financial technologies and digital economy SKOLKOVO-NES. He holds a Ph.D.in Finance from the London Business School and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Moscow State University.
Oleg’s research interests include mutual funds and ETFs, macroeconomics and financial markets. He actively comments on Russian macroeconomics in media, including top Russian TV and newspapers, as well as in BBC, Forbes and DW.

Paul Castaneda Dower
Paul Castaneda Dower is an Assistant Professor at the New Economic School (NES) in Moscow, Russia, and also works as a Lead Economist for the Center for Financial and Economic Research (CEFIR).
He studies the political economy of development and his research has focused on the impact of land reform on household and firm behavior.
Natalya Volchkova
Natalya Volchkova is a Director of the Centre for Economic and Financial Research (CEFIR at NES) and a Senior Lecturer at the New Economic School (NES) in Moscow, Russian Federation. She holds a Ph.D. from the Central Economic and Mathematics Institute of Russian Academy of Science.
She serves as a member of the Committee for Development Policy, United Nations, a member of the Expert Council of Open Government of Russia, member of the Expert Council of Accounting Chamber of RF and some others. In 2008, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship. In 2016 she was nominated for Yegor Gaidar Award in Economics.
Her research interests are in the areas of international trade theory and policy, natural resource economics and corporate governance.

Elena Paltseva
Elena Paltseva is an Associate Professor at Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE), Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). Prior to joining SITE, Paltseva has worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Copenhagen (UCPH). Her research interests include Political Economics, Industrial Organization, Energy and Resource Economics, and Gender Economics.
