Ekaterina Zhuravskaya
Zhuravskaya is Professor of Economics at the Paris School of Economics and Directrice d’études at EHESS. She was the winner of the Young Economists Competition of the fifth Nobel Symposium in Economics “The Economics of Transition” in 1999, a Global Leader for Tomorrow of the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2001, a recipient of the Best Economist prize by the President of the Russian Academy of Science in 2002 and 2003. She was recipient of a Diploma of the Russia’s National Award for Work in Applied Economics in 2010 and in 2014, Hans Rausing Professorships 1998-2009, the International W. Leontief Medal “For Contribution to Economic Reforms” in 2010, and the recipient of the Excellence in Refereeing Award of the American Economic Review in 2011. In 2015, Zhuravskaya was the winner of the ERC Consolidator grant.
She has published in the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of European Economic Association, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economic Perspectives, American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Law, Economics and Organization, Journal of Business, Journal of Comparative Economics, American Law and Economics Review, and Economics of Transition.
Zhuravskaya is Associate editor of the Journal of Public Economics and the Journal of Comparative Economics, and has served as panel member in the Economic Policy in the past. She has a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
Vitalijs Jascisens
Vitalijs Jascisens is a Ph.D. candidate at Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) and a visiting researcher at the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE). He holds MPhil in economics from TSE, BSc in economics and business administration from Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, and BSc in physics from the University of Latvia.
Vitalijs’ research interests lie primarily in development economics, industrial organisation and public finance.
John S. Earle
John S. Earle received his undergraduate degrees from Oberlin College and Conservatory, and his Ph.D. from Stanford University. Now a Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University, he has also taught at Stanford University, Stockholm School of Economics, University of Vienna, and Central European University. His main research interests are in labor, development, transition, and institutions, including topics such as employment policies, financial constraints, reallocation, and the effects of structural and institutional change on firms and workers. A former President of the Association for Comparative Economic Studies, his articles have been published in leading journals in not only economics, but also political science, management, and finance.
Zorica Trkulja
Zorica Trkulja is a Research Assistant at the Stockholm institute of Transition Economics (SITE) since August 2015. She holds a MSc in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics, since June 2015
Olena Besedina
Olena Besedina is a Senior Researcher at KEI and Objective Coordinator of the USAID Leadership in Economic Governance (LEV) Program. Olena is also an Assistant Professor at Kyiv School of Economics.
Received her Ph.D. in Economics at Bocconi University in 2008 and Master’s degree in Public Administration and International Development at Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (now Harvard Kennedy School), in 2003. She was a recipient of Joint Japan and World Bank scholarship that was used to finance her studies at Kennedy School of Government.
Olena’s focus is on policy-relevant research and analysis as well as teaching: she teaches courses on policy analysis and policy making at the two-year program and short-term programs. She also serves as a short-term consultant for the World Bank.
Gunes Gokmen
Gunes Gokmen is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the New Economic School, Moscow, and a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Bocconi University in Milan.
Giorgi Tsutskiridze
Giorgi Tsutskiridze is an Economist at the National Bank of Georgia with a demonstrated history of working in the research industry. He has worked as a Research Associate at the ISET Policy Institute (ISET-PI).
Giorgi Tsutskiridze holds a BA in Economics from Tbilisi State University Economics and Business Faculty and an MA in Economics from the International School of Economics at TSU (ISET).

Ruben Enikolopov
Ruben Enikolopov is the Rector and Professor of Economics at the New Economic School in Moscow, ICREA Research Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), and Researcher at Barcelona Institute for Political Economy and Governance (IPEG). He is also a Research Fellow for the Centre for Economic Policy Research and a Research Affiliate at the International Growth Centre.
With a PhD in Economics from Harvard University, his research mainly focusses on empirical analysis related to Political Economy, Economics of Mass Media, Development Economics and Corporate Finance. He has published various papers in the best academic journals including the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the Review of Economic Studies.
