Pavlo Iavorskyi
Pavlo Iavorskyi is a Research Associate and Teaching Fellow at Kyiv School of Economics. He obtained Master’s degree in Economics at University of Houston in 2011.
He was involved as a researcher and project manager in various policy projects in fields of international trade, public finance and public procurement, public health and tobacco control, anti-corruption and SME development, decentralization and local development.

Roman Semko
Roman Semko is a Research Associate at KEI at Kyiv School of Economics (KSE). He joined the KEI research team in July, 2011. Semko has a M.A. degree in Economics from the Kyiv School of Economics (EERC) and is currently a Ph.D. student at the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”.
His research interests include applied macroeconomics and econometrics.
Hanna Vakhitova
Hanna Vakhitova is an Assistant Professor at KSE and a Senior Economist at KEI. Hanna received Ph.D. in Economics
Her fields of specialization are migration and labor economics, education and development. Respectively to her scientific interеsts, she provides consultations on issues connected with migration, labour market and social assistance system.
Hanna Vakhitova was awarded numerous grants from the World Bank, the Internation Labour Organization, and the Ministry of Social Protection of Ukraine; fellowships from University of Kentucky and Eurasia Foundation.
Olena Besedina
Olena Besedina is a Senior Researcher at KEI and Objective Coordinator of the USAID Leadership in Economic Governance (LEV) Program. Olena is also an Assistant Professor at Kyiv School of Economics.
Received her Ph.D. in Economics at Bocconi University in 2008 and Master’s degree in Public Administration and International Development at Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (now Harvard Kennedy School), in 2003. She was a recipient of Joint Japan and World Bank scholarship that was used to finance her studies at Kennedy School of Government.
Olena’s focus is on policy-relevant research and analysis as well as teaching: she teaches courses on policy analysis and policy making at the two-year program and short-term programs. She also serves as a short-term consultant for the World Bank.
